15 JUNE 2018 – Tokyo – Numerical Technologies is excited to announce that Nippon Life Insurance Company (“Nippon Life”) has selected our ALM system to advance their analytics in asset and liability management in areas such as financial planning and scenario analysis.

Recent negative interest rate policy and an increase in market volatility have posed a challenge in asset management for Japanese financial institutions. To better identify and manage the potential risks, many are seeking a more robust and powerful risk management solution to strengthen their existing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

Nippon Life, one of the biggest institutional investor, has been trying to establish a method to simulate realistic projections of asset market value and risk-indicator distributions. However, to evaluate and analyze a huge portfolio with various asset classes, maturity profiles originated from different source systems is a complex task.

NtInsight® for ALM” leverages the power of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and accommodates complex accounting issue that arises within the insurance industry. Nippon Life has chosen to incorporate “NtInsight® for ALM” as its core calculation engine to address this challenge. In addition, we have collaborated with Information Services International-Dentsu, LTD. (“ISID”), who has put into practice an agile methodology to develop tools catered to a smooth implementation.
